Conduct of National Khelo India competitions in ANDHRA PRADESH for the year 2016-17

The SAAP has conducted Khelo India Competitions Under 14 & 17 categories of Boys and Girls at Mandal/Constituency/District/State and Nationals during the year 2016. The Government of India has allocated to host the National Level Sports competitions to Andhra Pradesh in the Sports Disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho & Wushu for Boys & Girls Under 14 years at A.C.Subba Reddy Stadium, Nellore from 18th January to 23rd January 2017 and for U-17 age category at Narasaraopet, Guntur District from 4th to 9th February 2017.


Conduct of National competitions at Nellore

The District Sports Authority Nellore has constituted 14 committees under the chairmanship of District Collector, Nellore to conduct the competitions from 18th to 23rd January 2017, the committees are Reception, Ceremonial, Accommodation, Boarding, transportation, Cultural, Press & publicity, Ground preparation & Venue, Medical & First Aid, Finance, Protest & Jury of appeal, Security & Protection, water & Sanitation, Grounds Equipment Committee.

The Govt. of India has sanctioned Rs. 25,50,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Lakhs Fifty thousand only) through Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh as grant to meet the expenditure of Boarding, Lodging, Technical Official Fee and Organizational Expenditure.

Total 586 participants ,coaches and managers from 15 States Uttarakhand, Rajastan, Manipur, M.P, Haryana, Kerala, Puduchery, West Bengal, Gujarat, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Tripura, Punjab, Telangana and host Andhra Pradesh have participated in the competitions.

Accommodation was provided for Players & Officials at Govt.Medical College hostel buildings and Non-Teaching Staff quarters, which is just walkable distance from the Competition Venue. Accommodation to the SAAP, SAI & Federation Secretaries at Tourism Hotel near to the stadium and technical officials at Local lodges. Local Transportation provided from Railway stations, Bus stand to accommodation and Competition venue from 17th to 24th January 2017. Free Boarding arrangements is provided to all the participants and officials from 17th to 24th January with south and North Indian food items including Breakfast, Tea, Snacks, Lunch and Dinner in Hygienic condition.

Total 120 Technical officials of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho & Wushu federations have conducted the matches as per the concerned Federation guidelines. The Competitions in Kho-Kho & Kabaddi were conducted in outdoor stadium in 04 separate courts with floodlights, the Wushu competitions have conducted in Indoor Stadium. The Medical Check up to all the players have been conducted by Local male and Female Doctors deputed by DMHO, Nellore and the SAAP Physiotherapist has associated with medical team during medical checkup and during Competitions also.

Sri M.VenkaiahNaidu Hon’ble Minister for Urban Development, Urban poverty Alienation, Housing and Information and Public Relations, Govt. of India has Inaugurated the Competitions on 19-1-2017 at 10 am Local M.P, M.L.As, Chairman & Members of SAAP Board, Local Peoples representatives & District administration has participated. The State level print & electronic media coverage the day to day programmes and results during the competition days. The Doordarshan given live Telecast of the Inaugural function on 19-1-2017. A campfire programme was organized on 20-1-2017 at 8 p.m. for entertaining all the participants with Musical Orchestra and arranged BADAKANA to all at the venue.

Sri Vakati Narayana Reddy garu, Hon’ble M.L.C., Sri Sridhar Reddy, Hon’ble M.L.A., Nellore Rural, Ward corporators & all head of the departments in District have participated and presented tropies,individual medals,trackshits for the winners, Runners, Third place holders of the Competitions.


Conduct of Khelo India National competitions at Narsaraopeta, Guntur District

The Government of India has allocated to host the National Level Sports competitions to Andhra Pradesh in the Sports Disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho & Wushu for Boys & Girls Under 17 years at Dr. Kodela Sivaprasadarao Stadium, Narasaraopet, Guntur from 04th to 09th February 2017. Total 856 participants and coach, managers from 19 States have participated in the competitions. The District Administration has arranged separate Reception counters at Railway stations at Narasarao Peta,Guntur and Vijayawada and also Bus Stands at Guntur and Narasarao Peta to receive and transport the players in the Buses to the accommodation Venues. The transportation facilities have provided from Accommodation venue to competitions venue regularly from 4th to 9th February 2017.

The District Medical officer has provided a team of Doctors for Medical Checkup and medical camps at the Playing & Accommodation venues round the clock, One Emergency Vehicle (108) has been kept at the Competition venue for the entire duration. One Big Rally was organized from center to Stadium with 10,000 students of the Narasarao peta town before inauguration of the competition to encourage and to cheer the participants. Sri Kodela Siva Prasada Rao, Hon’ble Speaker, AP Assembly has Inaugurated the Competitions on 05-2-2017 at 10 am Local M.P, Local Peoples representatives, VC&MD,SAAP, District Collector and District Officers has participated. Padmasri Pullela Gopichand, Badminton chief coach India, Sri MSK Prasad, Chairman Selection committee BCCI are also participated during the competitions and witnessed the matches and encouraged the players .

O4 Kabaddi courts with flood lights and two big temporarily galleries have arranged with capacity of 2000 spectators. The matches were conducted from 4 P.M.to 8 P.M by the 50 Technical officials deputed by Kabaddi Federation. Total 12 boys 12 girls state teams have participated in the competitions. The matches were conducted by league cum knockout basis.

04 separate Kho-Kho courts with floodlights have arranged in the Football field of the stadium with four side barecading. The Competitions have been conducted from 4 P.M.to 8 P.M.by the 40 Technical Officials deputed by Kho-Kho Federation. Total 12 boys 11girls state teams have participated in the competitions. The matches were conducted by league cum knockout basis.

Wushu Competitions have conducted in Indoor Stadium on a separate arena with flood lights. The competitions have conducted by 15 Technical officials deputed from Wushu Federation.

Accommodation to the participants provided in Private Engineering Colleges and mess facilities are also provide at the same venues. Free Boarding arrangements provided to all the participants and officials from 3rd to 9th February with south and North Indian food items including Breakfast, Tea, Snacks, Lunch and Dinner in Hygienic condition. Cultural Programmes were arranged regularly from 5th to 8th February at 7pm to 9 p.m. on the main dais with renowned artists and school children under the supervision of DEO, Guntur.

O4 LED Screens have arranged and live cost the matches of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi & Wushu from 5th to 8th February 2017. More than 10,000 people regularly attended to witness the Kabaddi,Kho-Kho & Wushu competitions and given wonderful support to the host state A.P teams during their matches with opponent teams. Valedictory Function (Prizes distribution)

Valedictory function was conducted on 08.2.2017 at 6.00P.M. Hon’ble Agriculture Minister Sri Prathipati Pullarao garu, Hon’ble Social Welfare Minister, Sri R. Kishore Babu garu, Sri Rama Krishna M.L.C, Sri. L.V Subrahmanyam garu, Spl. Chief Secretary, YAT&C(S) Department, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, District collector, Superintendent of Police, Guntur and local public representatives have participated.

The Government has awarded Cheque of Rs. 25.00 Lakhs to the veteran Swimmer and Olympian Sri Mahaboob Shamshad Khan, and also felicitated to Smt. Satti Geeta, Athlete, and Triple Olympian. The Guests have distributed the trophies to the team Championships Gold, Silver & Bronze medals to the players winning first, Second & Third Place in the Competitions.Tracksuits also provided to the winners & Runners provided by the Govt.of India. The organizers have provided individual momentous to all the participated states during the prize distribution function.

Brief report on conduct of Khelo India competitions in ANDHRA PRADESH for the year 2016-17

The lower level competitions have been conducted from Mandal Level, Constituency level and District level for boys and girls U-14 & 17 years Age categories in the following disciplines.

At Mandal Level:

Mandal Level competitions for boys & girls held from 7th to 12th November 2016 in the State. Minimum 03 maximum 05 disciplines out of above 10 disciplines basing on the popularity of the mandal competitions has conducted. Total boys & girls participated in the Mandal Competitions in the state: 5,45,688

At Constituency Level:

The constituency level have been conducted from 14th to 19th November 2016 in all 175 constituency of the State 1,39,327 participants both boys and girls participated throughout the State.

At District Level :

The District level competitions conducted from 23rd to 30th November 2016. The competitions as conducted in all 10 Khelo India disciplines. Total 45,411 participants both boys and girls have participated.

At State Level :

The State level competitions conducted in 10 Khelo India disciplines in the following venues. Total 5200 participants both boys & girls have been participated.

Deputation of the State teams to take part in the National level Khelo India competitions for the year 2016-17

The SAAP has released an amount of Rs. 29,11,620/- (Rupees twenty nine lakhs eleven thousand six hundred and twenty only) to the contingent leaders of the State teams towards DA, Sports kit, medical & miscellaneous expenditure to take part in the National level Khelo India competitions for the year 2016-17 in various places in India.

In addition that SAAP has deputed State teams in the disciplines of Badminton, Tennis and Gymnastics for Khelo India National competitions at Hyderabad.
